Microneedling
Treat your body & soul
At Sculpt Beauty, we offer professional SkinPen® microneedling to improve acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores and uneven texture. Using fine, sterile needles, the treatment stimulates the skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin without heat, harsh chemicals or injectable substances. Each treatment begins with a consultation and personalised plan.
-
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a skin-renewal treatment that uses very fine, sterile needles to create thousands of controlled microchannels in the skin. These tiny channels trigger the skin’s natural healing response. As the skin begins to repair itself, new collagen and elastin fibres are formed, helping to strengthen the skin and gradually improve its texture, firmness and overall appearance.
SkinPen (the device we use) does not rely on heat, harsh chemicals or injections. Instead, it encourages the skin to renew itself naturally from within.
-
SkinPen® microneedling can be used on several areas of the face and body, depending on your concerns and suitability. These may include:
Face
Neck
Décolletage and upper chest
Hands
Areas of the body affected by scarring or stretch marks
The official SkinPen® professional information identifies the face, neck, décolletage, hands and body as potential treatment areas. Your practitioner will assess the area before confirming whether microneedling is appropriate.
What Skin Concerns Can Microneedling Help?
Following a consultation, SkinPen® microneedling may be recommended to improve the appearance of:
Acne Scarring
Microneedling can help soften the appearance of indented facial acne scars by encouraging collagen production beneath the skin. Improvements develop gradually as the treated tissue renews and remodels. SkinPen® clinical studies have shown continued improvement in facial acne scars for up to six months following a treatment course. Microneedling is intended for acne scarring rather than active, inflamed acne. Active breakouts may need to be brought under control before treatment begins.
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
By supporting the production of collagen and elastin, microneedling can improve the appearance of fine lines and help the skin look smoother and firmer. SkinPen® has published clinical evidence supporting the treatment of wrinkles on the neck.
Enlarged Pores and Uneven Texture
A course of microneedling may help refine rough or uneven skin texture, reducing the visible appearance of enlarged pores and creating a smoother-looking complexion.
Surgical and Other Suitable Scars
Microneedling may help improve the texture and appearance of certain healed scars by stimulating the skin’s natural remodelling process. Scars must be fully healed before treatment, and suitability will depend on the type, age and condition of the scar.
Stretch Marks
Stretch marks form when the skin stretches or changes quickly, affecting the collagen and elastin within it. Microneedling may help make suitable stretch marks appear smoother and less noticeable over time.
Uneven Skin Tone
Microneedling can support a brighter and more even-looking complexion by encouraging skin renewal. Pigmentation concerns must be assessed carefully, as not every form of pigmentation is suitable for microneedling.

-
Your appointment will begin with a consultation and thorough cleansing of the treatment area. A topical numbing cream may be applied beforehand to help keep you comfortable.
Once the skin has been prepared, the SkinPen® device is passed evenly across the treatment area. The fine needles create precise microchannels while the treatment depth is adjusted according to the area and your individual skin needs.
Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure, vibration or a mild scratching feeling. A typical appointment takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes, although the total time will depend on the number and size of the areas being treated.
SkinPen (the device we use) does not rely on heat, harsh chemicals or injections. Instead, it encourages the skin to renew itself naturally from within.
-
The skin will usually appear pink or red immediately after microneedling, similar to a mild sunburn. You may also experience temporary tightness, dryness, tenderness or light peeling.
These effects commonly settle within one to three days, although recovery times vary. Your practitioner will provide clear aftercare instructions and advise when you can resume your normal skincare routine, apply makeup and return to active products.
Sun exposure should be avoided around the time of treatment, and daily broad-spectrum sun protection is essential while the skin is recovering.
-
Some clients notice that their skin looks fresher once the initial redness has settled. However, microneedling results are not immediate because the treatment depends on the body’s natural collagen-remodelling process.
The skin can continue to improve over the following weeks and months. Results vary according to the concern being treated, your skin condition and the number of treatments completed.
-
The number of treatments required will depend on your skin concerns and desired outcome. A series of sessions is usually recommended for concerns such as acne scarring, visible lines or uneven texture, with appointments commonly spaced around four weeks apart.
Maintenance treatments may then be recommended to support the results. Your practitioner will create a personalised treatment schedule following your consultation.
-
SkinPen® can be suitable for a wide range of skin types and tones. However, every client must be assessed before treatment, and microneedling may need to be delayed or avoided if you have:
Active acne, cold sores or another skin infection
Open wounds or irritated skin
A tendency to develop keloid scars
Certain inflammatory skin conditions
A bleeding or clotting disorder
Recently used particular acne medications
Recently undergone another intensive skin procedure
A medical condition or medication that affects healing
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, depending on clinic protocol
Please provide full and accurate information about your health, medication and skincare during your consultation. Where necessary, medical approval may be requested before proceeding.
